UNDISCOVERED LAND - VOYAGE 2
Synopsis
UNDISCOVERED LAND - VOYAGE 2 is a dance-drama across time. It tells the story of Heather, a contemporary Sydney woman who is beset with allergies and psychological problems. With the help of a regression therapist, she plunges into her past to unlock a path of recovery. She re-experiences crucial events from the present and beyond:
-Her youth as the rebellious daughter of repressive parents in post-war Sydney where she is confronted with an unwanted pregnancy in a society where issues of sexuality were cloaked in silence.
-A past life as Serafina, a Jewish girl living in Southern Spain during the reign of the Catholic Monarchs Ferdinand and Isabella at the turn of the 15th century. She is denounced to the Spanish Inquisition by a jealous rival, tried by the infamous Cardinal Lucero, tortured, then burnt on the stake.
-And her life as Armande, an actress in 17th century France (the time of Moliere), who is at loggerheads with her director/husband. The couple are snared in the farcical mish-mash of their real life marital conflicts and the love-hate reality of the stage characters in the play they rehearse for the king.
Heather's dreams, nightmares, trance experiences, intuitions and memories travel from palace to dungeon, from abortionist's kitchen to stake, from stage to sacred space. Gradually, the greater picture of her reality becomes clear, freeing her from the past and empowering her in the now. As the pattern of oppression accumulated in time is erased, Heather¹s pathological symptoms disappear.
The original version premiered in 1997 at THE EDGE. It was revived for Kinetic Energy's 25 year jubilee in 2000, and included in the the first anthology of contemporary Australian performance texts: PERFORMING THE UNNAMEABLE: An Anthology of Australian Performance Texts (edited by Richard James Allen and Karen Pearlman, published by Currency Press and RealTime). Today, state imposed terror, fear-mongering and racism convulse whole communities. Gender conflicts continue within power structures and personal relationships. In its treatment of such issues we trust that you will find our UNDISCOVERED LAND - VOYAGE 2 has lost none of its pertinence.

TIGER I
Synopsis
The idea of a totem or spirit guide is common to native peoples around the world: an animal spirit or energy comes into us, watches over us. In this solo act, performer Jake Blundell uses movement, story-telling and childhood fantasies to suggest that, behind our consciousness, powerful spirits influence and guide us along life's path.

THE NARCISSUS DIP
Synopsis
A Poesy Physicale Performance by dancer Tammi Gissell. A surface reality where memory and neurosis meet to reflect. A reality checked upon reflections of self. A toe dipped in the looking glass lake of memory.
