THE LONDON INTERNATIONAL DANCEFILM  FESTIVAL

Fri 30 Nov - Sun 2 Dec 2007

RIVERSIDE STUDIOS, HAMMERSMITH, LONDON W6
TICKETS: 0208 237 1111

The festival is curating and exhibiting dance works specifically made for the camera with an emphasis in year one,  on the potential for new media distribution channels to open up the field across a wider spectrum of dance making and choreographic endeavour.

The festival is a platform for works beyond the mainstream companies, choreographers and dancers. It also aims to celebrate dancefilm as a  genre, increasingly enjoyed by film-goers outside the dance world.

The festival’s prime focus is to enlarge audiences for all aspects of Dancefilm and to support development of production resources and commissioning channels for dancefilm makers.

The 3-day event features a full programme of new films from all over the world, the festival offers Q&A’s and talks with both practitioners in the dance film genre, composing  for film,  and how art and mammon can more comfortably coexist  through helping "commercial"  interests understand how to focus as much on the input mechanisms of the processes as the inherent or potential outcome "values".

Please contact the curator below if you have a contribution on any of the focal points in this year's programme.

UK premieres include:
Mats Ek  former director of Sweden’s Cullberg Ballet: “Old and Door”
Jiri Kylian director of  Nederlands Dans Theatre: “Car-Men”
Pontus Lidberg’s (Stockholm)  debut feature: “The Rain”.
"Thursday's Fictions" by Richard James Allen
Carmen Rozenstraten's "Breathe Me"
Greta Schoenberg's " Hopscotch"
